Hand swabs Can Relieve Pain

Jakarta, If you experience acute pain due to tripping or touching hot objects, do not rush to use analgesics. Use own hands to wipe it, because the touch and caress it can help ease it.
Scientists in the UK revealed, the entire human body pain linked to maps found in the brain. The touch of hand on the surface of the body can affect the mapping, so the pain centers in the brain may also be affected.
In theory the same as in the phantom limb phenomenon that occurs after amputation, which can feel the sensation to body parts that no longer exists. For example, after a leg amputation, phantom limb caused a sensation as if there could still feel the leg in place.
In a study published in Current Biology recently, scientists conducted experiments to prove the effect on pain. Painful stimuli given to participants' fingers with mencelupkanntya in hot water.
Index finger and ring finger dipped in water temperature of 42.78 degrees Celsius, while the middle finger dipped in water temperature of 13.89. Apparently, the trick is to make the middle finger to feel the pain experienced by the 2 fingers next to it.
Soon after that, participants were asked rubbing the finger with your other hand. Reportedly, the pain experienced by the participants directly reduced by 64 percent.
Excerpted from the LiveScience, Tuesday (28/09/2010), scientists believe it has restored a touch of true perception in the brain related to the actual temperature in each finger. Not just by taste sensors on the hand that caressed it, but through the remapping of the body parts that feel pain.
